Checkendon Equestrian Centre holds BHS Examinations for Stages 1-4, the Preliminary Teaching Test and Intermediate Teaching Test. Training for all of these exams is available at the Centre.
Six candidates trained by Checkendon were put forward for the Stage 2 Examination in November 2013 and all passed, pictured right are three of those successful candidates, Hannah Parfitt, Gemma Ward and Max Campbell.
We can train you for your British Horse Society exams up to and including Stage 4, PTT and Int Teach. Training can be planned to suit your requirements, from hour sessions to intensive 12 week courses (see Intensive Courses). Robert Pickles BHSF attends the Centre to train on a regular basis, more information and dates can be found on our Diary page.
The BHS Riding and Road Safety Examination is held at Checkendon on a regular basis (see Diary) with training provided by the Centre if required. For more information please see the Riding & Road Safety 2014 of training and exams.
Both riding and stable management sessions can be covered in as much detail as you need.
The courses are tailor made for you, there are no large groups. This means that we can assess you and work on the areas that need attention.
We also hold monthly clinics with Robert Pickles BHSF working towards the BHS examinations as well as dressage clinics with Paralympic gold medalist Lee Pearson and monthly clinics with eventer Warren Lamperd – see Clinics.
